Named for Aunt Tootsie Vera, who baked a lemon cake every year that no one seemed to appreciate—until they finally did. Shortly after she passed, the recipe was lost, but the memory stayed. When Sal tasted a cake from a local baker that brought it all back, he knew one day it would have a place on his menu.
